This flat screen tv is surprisingly thin for a 64-inch plasma, very nice designed. It’s very nice looking, even when turned off. The TV with its thin barely there bezel is a stunning piece of furniture in its own right.

The menu provides numerous picture setting adjustments including full CMS and 10 point white balance. Those who are fans of games will be happy to find out that the set responds very well to fast moving images. Gaming on this TV is an absolute pleasure.
It is 3D capable, including going 2D to 3D, and it offers superb 3D picture quality with very little distortion or artifact in the image even thought some of the distortions in 3D are inherent in the video source. The clarity of picture combined with the 3D effects are something to see. The 3D glasses are Bluetooth so you don’t have to worry about IR signal interruption while watching your favorite movies. Another pro, Samsung PN64D8000 is capable of decoding multiple video formats such as .mkv, .avi, etc.
The screen is a bit reflective therefore think well if you want this in a room with lots of windows. The reflections will be noticeable. This TV is meant to be viewed in a darkened room with minimal light.
Like every other advanced TV on the market, the audio quality is just decent. Since this is only a TV, and a very thin one, and not a high-fi surround sound audio system the average sound quality is understandable. It offers plenty of connectivity options for other devices including a 5.1 high-fi sound system, DVR, DVD player, USBs, component system or other video or media source. If you have more devices to connect to Samsung PN64D8000, an A/V receiver is recommended.
The ability to browse the web on this TV is decent, not as smooth as a computer or iPad but it works acceptable enough. It has both an Ethernet port and built-in Wi-Fi to connect to the Internet in either way you please. The Smart TV interface, though kind of crowded, gives access to various online streaming services, including Netflix, Vudu, CinemaNow, Hulu Plus, and to different social apps such as Skype, Facebook, Twitter, etc. The remote has a useful Qwerty keypad for entering text which makes Internet and apps surfing so much easier. In case you do not like it there is an app to use on a smartphone.
